Welcome Visitors!
Welcome to the church of Christ in Angleton, Texas! There are no reserved pews, so sit where you like. We are a part of the Restoration Movement which is restoring New Testament Christianity to the church. Listed below are some of the things you can expect to see in our worship service.
Singing: Everyone is invited to join in as we sing praises to God. Our singing is a cappella, so there will be no musical instrument played. We praise God with our pure, natural voices.
Praying: There will be several prayers led by men who have been designated to speak. Most of our prayers are led from the front where everyone can better hear the prayers.
Preaching: Our preacher is Leland Rodgers. He bears no religious title and wears no religious clothing. Christianity is a priesthood of all believers; all are equal. In most cases, our morning service lasts from 10:30 to 11:30.
Inviting: At the close of the sermon, the preacher will extend an invitation to those wishing the prayers of their fellow Christians or desiring to be baptized. Do not feel that you have to respond or become ill at ease; you will not be singled out. We believe that everyone should be given an opportunity to become a Christian; this is the time we have set aside for this.
Communing: If you are here on Sunday, the Lord's Supper (or communion) will be part of our service. The Lord's Supper is for all Christians, and visitors are welcomed to observe the Supper in the same manner as our members.
Offering: As our guest, you are not expected to make a donation. Please feel comfortable to pass the collection plate down the row to members of our congregation.
What's expected of you? Nothing at all! You are welcomed to participate, but do not feel obligated. You will be asked to fill out a visitor's card to enable us to know who you are and to thank you for being a part of our service.
Thank you for coming. We pray that you find our worship service to God refreshing to your soul. We hope that you will come again.
