What's Wrong With Saturn?

Not the second largest planet in the solar system — the car.

Driving to work today, I was listening to the morning news on the radio. It seems that some 800 people who had bought Saturns were experiencing radiator problems. I knew what was coming next. Just another story about a product recall. Wrong! Saturn delivered new cars to these people. And that’s what made it newsworthy.

What’s with Saturn: Don’t they know other car companies don’t operate that way?

But the story wasn’t over. It seems that Saturn recently had a price reduction of $700 dollars on their vehicles. So what do they do? They turn around and send $700 checks to the customers who bought their cars before the reduction took place. Now that’s a first!

Saturn had better be careful. Putting the Golden Rule into effect in the business world could turn everything upside down. I’m confident there are worried automotive executives sitting around in Detroit scratching their heads and saying, "This doesn’t make sense."

The truths Jesus uttered have never made much sense to the worldly mind. They are too impractical. But are they really? What if they work? What if everyone benefits?

Personally, I think Saturn did the right thing. Furthermore, I believe they are going to learn the truthfulness of another statement Jesus made: "Give and it will be given to you."
